Brielle Leger is a child who loves dogs. Now nine years old, Brielle likewise enjoys writing short stories and poems. It came as no surprise then that Brielle uses her talent to entertain shelter dogs. Whenever she can, Brielle would write short stories and later on read these to shelter dogs.
The young girl is a frequent visitor to the Fairhaven Animal Shelter, which is very near her family’s house. According to Terry Crips, the head of the shelter, they already know the young girl as someone who loves interacting with shelter dogs. Terry added that Brielle is a blessing for the shelter because the young girl helps them in one way or another.
Whenever Brielle visits the animal shelter, she would often go to the dogs and read them the stories she wrote. For Terry, this is a sweet gesture on the part of the young girl because not everyone has a heart for shelter dogs.
One time, Terry listened to the storytime of Brielle. She heard that the young girl is telling a story of the life of a dog inside the house. Terry said that when the girl starts narrating the story, the dog begins listening intently. For Terry, this is an excellent talent for the young girl because she could get the attention of dogs, who are sometimes loud inside their cages.
Brielle’s father, Bryan, is very supportive of what his daughter does. According to him, Brielle wants these dogs to feel loved, and that she can do it by telling them stories. While Brielle enjoys what she is doing, the young girl wishes that these dogs will soon find their forever homes. Bryan knows that Brielle loves to write stories, but he is also aware that his daughter wants to be a dog sitter or veterinarian someday.
