National Dog Day is celebrated every 26th day of August. When this day draws near, several animal shelters hold different activities to celebrate the special day. Dogs from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) celebrate this day in style.
Volunteers from the group decided to hold an activity that would introduce who the dogs are. The event was known as the cutest dog contest, and four candidates joined this year. These four are Kajla, Djanni, Lexa Alexey, and Ron.
But according to the organizers, the contest is just for fun, and they would award each of the dogs to appreciate them in joining the dog contest. During the competition, the dog’s handlers would film the unique talents of their dogs.
Through this, the organizers said they could showcase what the TSA dogs are capable aside from being working dogs. The organizers then uploaded all the videos online so other people could see the entries. In the end, all four dogs were declared as co-winner because all of them are equally talented.
On a typical day, the four dogs work at their respective airports, ensuring the safety of the passengers who leave and enter the state. Kajla works at the Daniel K. Inouye Airport in Hawaii while Djanni is deployed at the Phoenix Harbor International Airport in Arizona.
Meanwhile, Lexa-Alexey roams around the Dallas-Forth Worth International Airport in Texas. Ron, on the other hand, keeps peace and order in California’s Oakland International Airport. The volunteers from TSA are thankful for the presence of the dogs in these airports.
These volunteers say that the four dogs have been offering help the best way they could. Since it was National Dog Day during that day, the four dogs received special treatment. They received special treats and were given a day off from work.
Sometimes a dog is blessed to be cute AND talented. Here's Kajla, a @TSA finalist for cutest K9, showing us just how amazing she is. Kajla works at Daniel K. Inouye Int'l Airport. Vote for her now on TSA's social media accounts on Twitter and Instagram. @DOTHawaii pic.twitter.com/giMmEwpGfw
