This kid named Bentley Boyers was born with a congenital disability known as the cleft lip. With this condition, the kid struggled with simple tasks like eating. When it became apparent to his parents, they decided to correct this congenital disability through surgery. But even after the surgery, Bentley still felt different from other kids, so his parents adopted a dog for him.
Brandon and Ashley thought of adopting a dog that the toddler could relate to, so they adopted a pup with the same condition as Bentley’s. They then named the dog as Bernard. The dog came from the Jackson County Animal Shelter in Michigan, and it was Brandon who first saw the dog.
When Brandon saw the pup, he knew that he was the perfect dog for his son. This is because the dog also has a cleft palate. Brandon then called Ashley and informed her about Bernard. Upon hearing the news from her husband, Ashley told Brandon that they should adopt the dog.
The couple visited the dog the second time, and during their visit, they submitted the needed documents to adopt the dog. When they went home and introduced the dog to their son, the two immediately built an instant connection. It was Bentley who was the happiest as he hugged the dog.
Meanwhile, the dog seemed harmless because he allowed Bentley to kiss and hug him. According to the couple, they are happy to see their son elated with the dog’s presence. But more than this, the couple hopes that Bentley would be able to relate with Bernard.
This is because Bentley and Bernard had the same condition. In the past, the kid was hesitant to be friends with other kids because of his condition. Brandon and Ashley hope that the dog would be able to help Bentley regain his confidence.
These two truly are a perfect match.#dogs #dogsofinstagram #DogsofTwittter https://t.co/LpZJqIH16b
