Nobody knew how and when three-year-old Remi Elliot wandered into the massive cornfield the day she got lost, but when her parents started looking for her, it took a 12-hour extensive search before they found her. And they only found her because their family dog, a Yorkie named Fat Heath, alerted them to their location.
Remy was probably out of the house playing with the dog when she wandered out of their yard. Her mom, Timber Elliot, started looking for her when it was getting dark. Timber became frantic when she scoured their yard and their home, not finding her little toddler. She yelled out for her name constantly, but she didn’t answer. That’s when the authorities came in to help out.
A manhunt
What started out as a five-person rescue team turned into more than a hundred people searching for the little girl. They even included two helicopters and a plane looking for the lost girl. They searched far and wide, but the girl wasn’t located, it was as if somebody took her snd brought her far away.
The search for Remi lasted throughout the night, and to her parents, it felt like an eternity. Then the day broke. Searchers, which included family and friends, and the police now, has already covered a wide radius. And then those searching in the cornfield heard a noise coming from a small dog. Rescuers rushed to the source of the sound and found Remi with the Yorkie, cowering by the corn stalks.
As nit turned out, the little girl wandered to the cornfield, and the dog followed her. As the darkness enveloped them, the two stopped and stayed where they were. The Yorkie never left the little girl’s side, and when they heard the rescue team looking for them, the dog started barking. Aside from multiple mosquito bites, Remi did not sustain any injuries.
When Remi was asked if she was afraid, she said no, because Fat Heath was with her.
