Kratos is only one dog among eight hundred more who live in a landfill in Turkey. A landfill is never an ideal place for any animal to live in, maybe except for rats. The dogs in the landfill are either scavenging for food or have been dumped there.
Kratos is a Kangle, and their breed is known to guard livestock. The most reasonable explanation that he is there is he might be too old to do his job and ended up being dumped.
There is a group of rescuers who try to save these animals. Unfortunately, they can’t take all of them at once. They need to assess and check which animal needs them the most. They would have to take the others at a different time.
Crystal is also a rescuer and has been rescuing animals from dumpsters and landfills. She has recently saved four animals who are now living with her, together with her eleven dogs. Crystal saw a photo of Kratos online and saw how much he looks like her old dog.
Crystal could not stop thinking about Kratos. Crystal knew she needed to do something to help him, so she decided to adopt Kratos. Crystal wanted to fly him from Turkey to the United States. Unfortunately, it was harder than she thought it would be.
A Kangle is considered an animal treasure in Turkey, which means that it is illegal to export Kratos. Crystal contacted one of her friends, who is also a rescuer and asked him to keep Kratos.
Crystal was willing to pay for everything Kratos needed as long as he’s taken care of. Crystal is willing to pay for all his needs his entire life. That’s how much she truly cares. Crystal is working with the Turkish government to find a way to send Kratos and a few more dogs to the US.
