The story of Duncan is an inspiration to both humans and dogs. The nine-month-old Rough Collie began his life in bad shape. Originally from a dog mill in Solon, Maine, Duncan is one of the many dogs that got rescued from a horrible environment.
The dogs who got rescued were then brought to different animal shelters where they sought temporary shelter. Duncan is one of the sixty dogs that arrived at the Animal Refuge League. Under the watch of the animal shelter, Duncan and the other dogs received the medical care they needed. They were also provided with their daily needs, such as food, water, and shelter.
Luckily, Duncan got adopted by Jeana Roth. When Jean took Duncan home, the pooch was just two-months-old. Jeana did everything she could to let Duncan forget about his troubling past. It was a process, but Jeana was thankful that Duncan got the better of it.
Jeana then decided to let Duncan join a team of dogs that will compete in the 2020 Puppy Bowl. The training and preparation were rigorous, so even if Duncan was still young, he already trained. The dog, though, loved what he was doing and eventually mastered the craft.
During the 2020 Puppy Bowl, Duncan’s trainer decided to put in the dog as a starter. It was a gamble for the coach, but according to him, he saw potential on the puppy. True enough, the gamble paid off as Duncan’s team won the 2020 crown.
Duncan became instrumental to this victory because the pooch was a team player. With this news, Jeana vowed that she would support Duncan in all the dog’s undertakings because that is how a dog should be treated. But while Duncan is now being hailed as a dog champion, people still get inspired by how the dog reached this far from a humble beginning.
Don’t forget to catch the Puppy Bowl today at 3pm on Animal Planet to see our Duncan storm the field with Team Fluff!
